The WPI gauge is handy to have in your spinning tool chest or for yarn lovers who can't figure out the weight of that yarn that has been in the yarn stash forever and lost it's wrapper. Well with this handy tool we made it so easy to figure it out with no muss or fuss.  Simply wrap your yarn around from one end of the notched 1" rule to the other end without overlapping. When you are done wrapping, count how the number of wraps around the tool and compare it to the legend to figure out the yarn weight. They make a great gift for your favorite fiber instructor or friend!
 
The 1-inch swatch gauge is small enough to carry wherever you bring your projects, hang it on the outside of your favorite project bag. It is a handy tool for measuring your gauge in any weight yarn for both knitting and crochet.  To use, simply lay the tool on top of your work, count the number of stitches along the top, and count the number of rows up the right side that sit inside the cutout window. This will be your gauge for a 1"x 1" swatch.
 
These make great gifts for beginner spinners or knitter/crocheters but also are great to give at yarn swaps, birthdays or as a holiday gift. 
 
Both mini tools are made from natural 1/16" basswood with round corner design that is sleek to avoid harm caused by peaked corners. 
Process: cut using Cricut machine and ruler lines added using heat transfer paper and heat press. 
Each piece is lightly sanded and sealed with clear satin polyurethane (helps protect heat transfer and makes them long-lasting).
Each tool comes with a ball-chain keychain to easily attach to your project bag. Ball chain ring is not meant for young children, please use supervision as it may be a choking hazard.
 
NOTE:  Because these are made of a natural material, the appearance of each tool may vary slightly due to the heating and transfer paper process.  As this is a natural project, each one has a different grain pattern and color tones.
